Visitors to the Mono County region of California's Eastern Sierra are offered a unique boat tour of historic Mono Lake by naturalist Tom Crowe. This spectacular journey and Crowe's knowledge of the regions provides a wonderful historic perspective of the geology and natural history of Mono Lake and its surroundings.

Located near Lee Vining, the Eastern Gateway to Yosemite National Park, Mono Lake is the nexus of the Mono Basin Natural Scenic area that is overseen by the U.S. Forest Service and the California State Parks. Mono Lake is the birthplace of most California Sea Gulls and serves as an important stopover for a wide varity of migratory birds using the Pacific flyway in the Western United States. The birds come to feed on the brine shrimp and alakali flies that inhabit Mono Lake. You will have an opportunity to experience wildlife on the lake close up and to view the awe inspiring tufa towers that characterize Mono Lake. You'll experience the breathtaking beauty of this unique of the Eastern Sierra first hand.
